Files & docs
Write docs and work with the files in your project.
- Find your way around FilesFiles holds your project's documents and the files in its folder. Learn what's on Files home, how the explorer and tabs work, and what you can do on each device.
- Create a documentStart a new document for notes, plans, or instructions you want to keep with a project. Give it a title, write, and Enjoy saves as you go.
- Format text in a documentAdd headings, lists, to-dos, quotes, code, and links with the toolbar or by typing Markdown. Switch to Raw when you want to edit the Markdown itself.
- Add images to a documentDrag images into a document or paste them, and they appear where you put them. Enjoy keeps a copy with the project so the document still shows them later.
- Open and edit project filesOpen any file in your project folder in a tab, make a change, and Enjoy saves it for you. Code gets a code editor, Markdown gets a formatted view, and pictures show a preview.
- Browse and search your project's foldersGo into the folders of your project, find files by name, and get back to the top. Use Files home for a list, or the explorer for a tree.
- Create a new file in your projectMake a new Markdown, JSON, plain text, or other file in any folder of your project. Enjoy creates it in the folder you're browsing and opens it for editing.
- Copy files into your projectDrag files from your computer into the Files explorer to copy them into your project folder. Your originals stay where they are, and Enjoy never replaces a file that's already there.
- Rename or delete a file or documentRename a project file or document from its menu, with separate fields for a file's name and its ending. Deleting removes it for good, so check before you confirm.
- Archive and restore documentsArchive documents you're done with to tidy up Files without deleting them. Find them in the searchable archive and restore them whenever you need them.
- Find and replace textFind words in a document, a Markdown file, or a workflow, jump between matches, and replace one or all of them. Every replacement can be undone.
- Pin files and documents for quick accessPin the documents and project files you use most. They appear as shortcuts at the top of the project, so you can open them from Conversations, Files, or Workflows.
- Manage your open tabsEvery document and file you open in Files gets a tab. Switch between them, close one, or close all the others at once. Enjoy saves your changes before a tab closes.
- Open a file in another appOpen a project file or document in the app your computer normally uses for it, or show it in Finder or File Explorer. Available in the computer app.
- Start a conversation about selected codeSelect code in a file, or text in a document, and start a new conversation with it already in your message. Add your question and send it to an agent.
- What are editor plugins?A plugin is a small app that shows a file in its own way inside Files, such as a to-do list as a board. Enjoy's Markdown and Code editors are plugins, and you can have an agent build your own.
- Open a file with a different editorOpen a file or document with another editor plugin from its Open with menu, switch editors from the tab, and choose which editor opens a file type by default.
- Create or change an editor pluginDescribe the editor you want, and an agent builds it as an Enjoy plugin. Later, open the plugin's project to ask for changes, and open files update as it changes.
- What happens when a file changes while you edit itAgents, other apps, and other devices can change a file you have open. Enjoy shows their changes, and never overwrites your unsaved edits. Here's how to settle a conflict.
- Use Files on your iPhoneRead and edit your project's documents and files from the iPhone app. Search, make new files, rename, delete, and archive, with your computer doing the saving.
