Build your first project

Computer3 min readUpdated October 3, 2026

Start a new project, describe what you want to make, and follow along while your agent builds it, then try the result and ask for changes.

Your first project can be anything you’d describe to a helpful developer: a website, a small app, a tool that tidies up files, or a presentation. You describe it in your own words, and the agent does the technical work.

Before you start

Steps

  1. Select Start something new

When you have no projects yet, Enjoy shows Let’s get started. with two choices. To work on files you already have instead, see Bring an existing project into Enjoy.

  2. Name the project’s folder

In the Create project folder window, replace Untitled project with a name, choose where to keep the folder (Enjoy suggests your Documents folder), and select Save. Enjoy creates the folder and opens it as your project.

  3. Select Let’s go

The first time, Welcome to Enjoy! explains how Enjoy works and links to the Enjoy Slack community for questions. It doesn’t appear again.

  4. Describe what you want

Select the message box at the bottom, where it says Ask your agent to do anything…, and describe what you want to make: what it is, who it’s for, and what it should do. Press Enter to send. Press Shift+Enter to start a new line instead.

  5. Follow along and answer questions

The conversation shows Working while the agent works, and it explains what it’s doing as it goes. If it asks you a question or needs your approval, the conversation shows Needs input. Answer in the conversation and the agent continues.

  6. Try what the agent made

When there’s something to see, the agent can open it in the product browser beside the conversation. If the agent gives you a link that starts with http://localhost, select it to open the page there.

  7. Ask for changes

Type what you’d like to change in the message box, where it now says Add a follow-up…. After a reply, Enjoy may show Potential next actions. Select one to send it.

Good to know

  • An example first message: “Build a simple website for my bakery with a home page, a menu page, and a contact form. Keep the design warm and friendly.” Specific details help. See Describe what you want.
  • The new folder starts empty. The agent creates the project’s files in it, and you can see them in Files. See Find your way around Files.
  • For each new task, start a new conversation with the + button (New conversation) at the top of the conversation list. See Use one conversation per task.
  • Below What are you working on?, Enjoy may suggest workflows to start with. A workflow is a saved set of instructions. See What are workflows?
  • Websites and other programs the agent starts keep running in the background. They’re listed under Processes. See What’s in the Processes list.
  • New projects are pinned as tabs at the top of the window, so you can come back to them.

If something goes wrong

“A file or folder already exists there. Choose a different name, or import the existing folder.”

There’s already something with that name in the place you chose. Pick another name, or open the existing folder with Import existing work. Nothing is replaced.

The agent can’t start or asks you to sign in

Your agent may have signed out. See Fix an agent that won’t sign in.

The website doesn’t load in the product browser

See Fix a preview that won’t load.

The agent stops because of a usage limit

Your AI plan limits how much you can use the agent in a period of time. See Fix “The usage limit was reached”.
