Work from your phone
Your phone steers agents that run on your computer. It's great for checking in, answering questions, and quick follow-ups. Set things up before you leave, and save a few jobs for the computer.
The iPhone app is a remote control. Your agents, files, and websites stay on your computer, and the phone sends your requests there over an encrypted connection. Enjoy’s pricing page states the condition: “Phones and teammates connect while your computer is awake, online, and running Enjoy.”
What the phone is good for
- Checking progress and reading replies and agent activity.
- Answering questions. Agents often stop to ask something. Answering from your phone keeps them going.
- Quick follow-ups and new tasks, including photos from Add image.
- Changing the model and effort for your next message.
- Looking at your site. A row under the conversation’s title opens the website full screen.
- Running workflows and marking finished conversations completed.
- Reading and editing docs and project files.
What the iPhone app leaves to your computer
- Permission approvals. On the phone, the card says Approve this on your desktop.
- Choosing the permission mode. The phone shows the current mode with “change on your desktop” beside it.
- Project instructions, installing agents, and managing the workflow library. The web app can edit instructions and workflows too.
- Merging or deleting worktrees.
Habits that help
- Pair before you need it. On your computer, select the circle with your initial in the top-right corner, then Connect a personal device. Scan the code with the iPhone app’s Scan code, then approve the phone on your computer with It matches · Approve. See Connect your phone.
- Leave your computer ready. Keep it plugged in and online, with Enjoy running. Enjoy keeps it awake while agents work, but an idle computer can still go to sleep. On Windows and Linux, closing Enjoy’s window quits it, so minimize it instead. See Keep your computer awake.
- Choose permissions before you go. For anything you plan to run while away, choose the permission mode on your computer, since the phone can’t change it or approve permission requests. See Choose what your agent can do without asking.
- Open the app to check in. The iPhone app doesn’t send notifications. It connects while it’s open.
- Write short, complete messages. A photo or screenshot often says more than a paragraph typed on a phone.
An example
Before leaving for the day, you start a conversation on your computer: “Add a gallery page with the photos in the ‘events’ folder.” On the train, you open the iPhone app. The agent has asked whether to show captions. You answer, and when it’s done you open the site from the conversation, check the gallery, and send “Make the photos a bit smaller on phones.”
Common pitfalls
- A sleeping computer. If it sleeps, the phone shows that it’s offline until you wake it.
- Waiting on an approval. A permission request you can’t answer from the phone stops the work until you’re back at the computer.
- Using another phone. The web app at app.enjoy.dev works in a phone’s browser. See Use Enjoy in a web browser.
