Keep your computer awake

Computer2 min readUpdated October 3, 2026

Your phone and browsers can only reach your projects while your computer is awake and running Enjoy. Enjoy keeps it awake while agents work.

Your agents run on your computer, and your other devices connect to it there. When the computer sleeps, they can’t reach it until it wakes up.

What Enjoy does on its own

While an agent is working, Enjoy keeps your computer from going to sleep because nobody is using it, and keeps the screen on too. In the computer app, a small coffee cup appears beside the conversation’s status, under its title, while this is happening. Point at it to see Keeping your computer awake while agents run.

When no agent is working anymore, your computer’s usual sleep settings apply again. There’s no setting to change this.

Enjoy only stops sleep caused by inactivity. If you put the computer to sleep yourself, for example by closing a laptop’s lid, your devices can’t reach it until it wakes up.

Reaching your computer when nothing is running

To use Enjoy from your phone or a browser at any time, not only while an agent is working:

  • Keep the computer on and plugged in, and set its own power or energy settings so it doesn’t sleep.
  • Keep it connected to the internet.
  • Leave Enjoy running and signed in to your account.

Closing the window versus quitting

  • Mac: closing the Enjoy window keeps Enjoy running in the background, along with any work in progress. Your devices can still connect. Select Enjoy in the Dock to bring the window back. Quitting Enjoy stops it.
  • Windows and Linux: closing the Enjoy window quits Enjoy. Leave the window open, or minimized, to stay reachable.

What your other devices show

When your computer is asleep, offline, or not running Enjoy, your phone and browsers say the computer is offline and that its projects come back when Enjoy is open on it. You can’t make changes until it’s back. Agents that were already working keep going on the computer while it’s awake.

If the connection drops while you’re sending something, Enjoy asks you to check the conversation before sending again, so nothing is sent twice.
