Where is my work stored?
Your project files, conversations, docs, and workflows stay on your computer. Your other devices reach them over an encrypted connection.
Enjoy runs on your computer, and so does your work. This page explains where things are kept. For how Enjoy handles information, read the privacy policy.
Your project files
Each project is a folder on your computer: the one you created or chose when you added the project. Agents read and change the files there. Enjoy doesn’t store your project files on its servers.
Conversations, docs, and workflows
Enjoy keeps each project’s conversations, docs, workflows, attachments, agent questions, and project instructions in a storage folder on the same computer. By default, that folder is in Enjoy’s application data, outside your project folder, inside:
- On a Mac:
~/Library/Application Support/app.enjoy.desktop/projects - On Windows:
AppData\Local\app.enjoy.desktop\projectsin your user folder - On Linux: usually
~/.local/share/app.enjoy.desktop/projects
Because they live outside your project folder, switching branches, using worktrees, or going back to an earlier commit never hides your latest conversations, docs, or workflows.
To see the exact folder or choose another one, open Project settings in the Enjoy computer app and expand Storage. See Choose where a project’s conversations are stored. Earlier versions of Enjoy kept these files in a .enjoy folder inside the project. When you open such a project, Enjoy asks to move them.
On your other devices
The web app and the iPhone app show your work from your computer, while it’s on and running Enjoy. They connect over an end-to-end encrypted connection and don’t keep their own copy of your projects. They can keep a few things on the device, such as drafts and preferences. See How connections between your devices are protected.
What reaches Enjoy’s servers
- Your account and plan details.
- What’s needed to connect your devices and keep them secure, such as device and computer names, access permissions, and technical details like IP addresses.
- Traffic between your devices, encrypted so the servers can pass it along but can’t read it.
- Usage statistics, if you leave them on. See Turn usage statistics on or off.
- Feedback you send: what you type and attach, your Enjoy version, and your system.
Your AI provider receives what your agents send it. See What AI providers see.
Sign-ins
Each agent’s program signs in to its provider by itself and keeps its own sign-in details. Enjoy doesn’t read them. In the computer app, Enjoy’s own sign-in and device keys are saved on your computer, and you can keep them in your system’s keychain instead. See Store your Enjoy sign-in in the system keychain.
Removing things
- Removing a project from Enjoy keeps its folder and its conversations. Open the same folder again later, and they come back. See Remove a project from Enjoy.
- Delete all application data… in the Help menu clears Enjoy’s saved project list, preferences, sign-ins, device pairings, and cached data. Your project folders, conversations, docs, and workflows stay on disk. See Delete all application data.
