How connections between your devices are protected

Your phone, browser, and other computers reach your computer over an end-to-end encrypted connection, and each one must be approved on your computer first.

When you use Enjoy in the web app, on your iPhone, or on another computer, your work stays on the computer that runs it. The other device connects to that computer through Enjoy’s relay, a server that passes messages between your devices.

Every device needs your computer’s approval

Signing in to your account isn’t enough for a device to open your projects. You connect each of your own devices from your computer:

  1. Your computer shows a code and a QR code. The code works once and expires after five minutes.
  2. After the device uses the code, both screens show the same six digits.
  3. You check that they match, then choose It matches · Approve on your computer.

Comparing the digits is what proves the request comes from the device in your hand, so never approve without checking. If they don’t match, choose Decline. Your own devices can open every project on that computer. See Connect your phone.

People you invite join with an invite link, and your computer gives them only the projects you choose. See How sharing your computer works.

Everything between them is encrypted

After approval, each device has its own keys, and every connection between it and your computer is encrypted end to end. Only your computer and that device can read what passes between them, such as messages, files, and conversations. The relay passes the encrypted data along. It can’t read it, approve a device, or act on your computer by itself.

What the relay can see

The relay sees what it needs to route traffic: which account and devices are connecting, when, and how much data passes. The privacy policy lists the connection details Enjoy keeps.

Previews on other devices

When you open a website your agent is running from another device, that website travels over its own encrypted connection to your computer. Enjoy’s preview server forwards it without being able to read it. See See your site from the web app or your iPhone.

Some things only happen on your computer

  • Approving an agent’s request to run a command or change files. The web app and other computers show “Review and approve this action in Enjoy on your desktop.” The iPhone app shows “Approve this on your desktop.”
  • Changing an agent’s permission mode.
  • Approving your own new devices.

When a message comes from another device, Enjoy tells the agent and asks it to take extra care with risky requests, such as anything involving passwords, uploads, downloaded code, or deleting things.

Limits to keep in mind

An approved device can see and do everything its access allows. If you lose a phone or a computer, disconnect it from your computer, which removes its access right away. See Rename or disconnect your devices. To disconnect every device at once and give your computer a new security key, see Reset remote access.
