Keyboard shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts for moving between projects and sections, writing messages, finding text, formatting docs, and zooming in Enjoy.
On a Mac, shortcuts use the Command key (⌘). On Windows and Linux, they use Ctrl. The same shortcuts work in the web app, except zooming and the window shortcuts, which belong to your browser. Your browser may also keep some combinations for itself, such as switching browser tabs.
Moving around
| Action | Mac | Windows and Linux |
|---|---|---|
| Open the first to ninth project tab | ⌘1 to ⌘9 | Ctrl+1 to Ctrl+9 |
| Go to Conversations, Files, Workflows, or Processes | ⌥⌘1 to ⌥⌘4 | Ctrl+Alt+1 to Ctrl+Alt+4 |
| Find in the open conversation, or search the conversation list | ⌘F | Ctrl+F |
| Hide or show the conversation list | ⌘\ |
Ctrl+\ |
| Go back to the list in a narrow window | Esc | Esc |
Project tabs count from the left: your pinned projects first, then the project you have open if it isn’t pinned. Esc returns to the list in every section except Files. These shortcuts don’t work while a window or menu is open on top.
Writing a message
| Action | Mac | Windows and Linux |
|---|---|---|
| Send | Return | Enter |
| Start a new line | Shift+Return | Shift+Enter |
| While an agent works, queue it for after the current turn | Return | Enter |
| While an agent works, send it and let the agent choose when to take it up | ⌘Return | Ctrl+Enter |
| Mention a doc, workflow, or file | @ | @ |
In the list that @ opens, use the up and down arrows to choose, left and right to switch between All, Docs, Workflows, and Files, then Tab or Return to add it. Esc closes the list. When an agent asks you a question, Return sends a typed answer and Shift+Return starts a new line.
Finding text
| Action | Mac | Windows and Linux |
|---|---|---|
| Next match | Return or ⌘G | Enter or Ctrl+G |
| Previous match | Shift+Return or ⇧⌘G | Shift+Enter or Ctrl+Shift+G |
| Find and replace in a doc | ⌥⌘F | Ctrl+H |
| Close find | Esc | Esc |
In a conversation, the next match is the older one. See Find words in a conversation.
Docs and files
| Action | Mac | Windows and Linux |
|---|---|---|
| Bold, italic | ⌘B, ⌘I | Ctrl+B, Ctrl+I |
| Strikethrough, code | ⇧⌘S, ⌘E | Ctrl+Shift+S, Ctrl+E |
| Bulleted, numbered, to-do list | ⇧⌘8, ⇧⌘7, ⇧⌘9 | Ctrl+Shift+8, 7, 9 |
| Quote | ⇧⌘B | Ctrl+Shift+B |
| Undo, redo | ⌘Z, ⇧⌘Z | Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+Y |
| Save a code file now | ⌘S | Ctrl+S |
| Close the open file tab | ⌘W | Not available |
On a Mac, when no file tab is open in Files, ⌘W hides the Enjoy window. Enjoy keeps running, and its icon in the Dock brings the window back.
Zoom and windows
These work in the computer app.
| Action | Mac | Windows and Linux |
|---|---|---|
| Zoom in, zoom out | ⌘= or ⌘+, ⌘- | Ctrl+= or Ctrl++, Ctrl+- |
| Back to actual size | ⌘0 | Ctrl+0 |
On a Mac, ⌘M minimizes the window and ⌘Q quits Enjoy. On Windows and Linux, use the buttons at the top of the window.
A few more
- On a screen that asks for a pairing code, paste a copied code with ⌘V on a Mac or Ctrl+V on Windows and Linux. It fills all the boxes.
- To open the menu for a file or a pinned item from the keyboard, press Shift+F10, or the Menu key if your keyboard has one.
- To resize a panel, move to its divider with Tab, then use the left and right arrows. Hold Shift for bigger steps. Home and End jump to the smallest and largest sizes, and Return resets it. Double-clicking a divider resets it too.
