Why a conversation is waiting for an agent
On Free, three agents can work at once. When you send a message while three are already working, the new conversation waits its turn instead of starting. Nothing you sent is lost.
What you see
- In the conversation list, the waiting conversation shows a box under its row: Waiting for an agent, with Starts when one of 3 finishes.
- In the conversation, a notice says Waiting for an agent and Free runs 3 agents at a time. This starts when one of them finishes., with Get Unlimited.
- In the sidebar, a Waiting row with a clock appears after Working, counting the conversations that wait. Select it to list them.
When it starts
- The conversation starts on its own as soon as one of the three agents finishes, so you don’t need to send it again.
- When several conversations wait, the one that has waited longest starts first.
- To start it sooner, stop one of the conversations that are working. See Stop an agent.
- With Unlimited, every agent works at once, and waiting conversations start as soon as Enjoy confirms the plan. See Get Unlimited.
What counts
- Each conversation whose agent is working counts as one, in any project. Helpers an agent starts inside its own conversation don’t count separately.
- Conversations with JOY don’t count, so you can always ask JOY. See Ask JOY.
- When an agent picks a conversation up again on its own, for example after background work it left running finishes, that counts while it works.
