Snooze a conversation
Snooze a conversation you still need to work on but don’t want in front of you right now. It leaves the conversation list’s Active, the main part of Inbox, and any unread counts, then comes back on its own when its time comes.
Steps
Choose Snooze
Point at the conversation in the list and select its alarm clock, beside the completion check. You can also right-click it, or use the ⋯ button in the open conversation, and choose Snooze.
Choose how long
Select In 1 hour, This evening, Tomorrow or Next week, each with the time it comes to, or Choose a date and time…. While the agent is working, When it finishes brings the conversation back as soon as its work ends.
Change your mind, if you like
A note under the list says when it’s back, with Undo until you do something else.
To snooze several at once, select them with ⌘-click or Shift-click, then choose Snooze from the reading pane or a row’s menu. See Select several conversations.
Find what you’ve snoozed
Snoozed stays at the bottom of the conversation list, with how many there are, while you’re looking at Active. It’s at the bottom of Inbox too, with what’s snoozed in every project. Select it to unfold them, soonest first. Each shows what any other conversation shows, and says when it’s back. Select Snoozed again to fold them away.
A search from Active finds snoozed conversations too.
When it comes back
A snoozed conversation comes back at the top of the list, unread, reading Back from snooze, and shows under Needs you in Inbox until you open it, so you’ll see it from another project.
It comes back early if:
- Its agent asks you something. The question needs you, so it doesn’t wait for the time you chose.
- You write in it. Sending or queuing a message means you want it now.
- You bring it back. Select the arrow on its row, or Bring back above the message box in the open conversation.
Snoozing doesn’t stop the agent. It keeps working, without sounds or badges, until the conversation is back.
Good to know
- It’s yours alone. In a project you share, a teammate’s list keeps the conversation.
- Your computer needs to be on. Enjoy on your computer brings conversations back. If it’s off at the time, they come back when you next open it.
- On iPhone, you can’t snooze a conversation yet. Snoozed conversations stay out of the app’s lists, and it shows them under Needs you when they come back.
