Join someone else's computer
Open the invite link someone sent you, sign in with your own account, and start working on the projects they shared with you.
An invite is a link to the Enjoy web app. You join with your own Enjoy account; you never sign in as the person who invited you.
Before you start
- You need the invite link from the person sharing their computer.
- Joining needs the Unlimited plan on your own account. A free trial counts, and you can start it while joining. See The Unlimited plan.
- The other person’s computer must be on and running Enjoy.
Steps
Open the invite link
It opens in your browser and shows the computer’s name, who invited you, and the projects you’ll get, each marked Can work or View only. Select Accept invite. If you’re already signed in with the invited email and it’s confirmed, select Join instead.
Sign in or create your account
If you aren’t signed in, Enjoy asks you to. Use the email the invite was sent to, so you can get in without waiting for approval.
Confirm your email if asked
If the invite named your email and it isn’t confirmed yet, type the six-digit code Enjoy emailed you, then select Confirm.
Start Unlimited if asked
If your account doesn’t have the plan, Enjoy offers it for this computer. Select Start my free trial or Continue to checkout (or Manage billing if you already have a subscription), and finish in the page that opens.
Wait to be let in
If the invite is for you, Enjoy shows Joining with the computer’s name and lets you in on its own. Otherwise it shows Waiting for and the owner’s name while they decide on their computer. Select Cancel request to stop asking.
Start working
Once you’re in, the shared computer opens at the first project you can work in.
Good to know
- Already using the Enjoy computer app? You can join there instead. Select the circle with your initial in the top-right corner, select your computer under My computers, then choose Join someone else’s computer. Paste the link and select Continue, then select Join, or the button that asks the owner to let you in. When you’re in, Enjoy shows You’re in with a button to open the first project.
- In the iPhone app, copy the link, then choose Someone else’s computer, which reads the link you copied. It’s on the app’s first screen, and in Settings under Connect another computer. Opening the link on an iPhone with the app installed also opens it in the app.
- If the invite was meant for someone else, Enjoy says This invite is for someone else. Select Use a different account to sign in with the invited email, or ask the owner to let you in.
- If you open an invite to your own computer, Enjoy says This invite is for other people and offers to connect this device as one of yours instead.
- Each device needs its own approval. To use the shared computer on another of your devices, see Add your other devices to a shared computer.
- What you can do depends on each project’s access. See Working on someone else’s computer.

They didn’t answer
A request waits about ten minutes for the owner. After that, the link no longer works. Ask the owner to open Enjoy on their computer and send you a new invite.
Couldn’t reach the computer
The owner’s computer is offline or Enjoy isn’t open on it. Ask them to open Enjoy, then select Try again.
This computer isn’t available right now. Ask its owner to open Enjoy.
The owner’s computer is paused, or their plan has ended. Ask them to check Enjoy on their computer.
