When another conversation switches the branch
If your project's branch changed since a conversation last worked, Enjoy tells you at the top of its message box. Switch back, or carry on with the new branch.
Conversations in your project’s main folder share one set of files, on one branch at a time. When the branch changes, each conversation that last worked on the old branch shows The branch changed at the top of its message box.
Steps
Read the notice
It says which branch this conversation was working on and which branch the project is on now. If another conversation switched it, the notice names that conversation. On your computer or in the web app, select the name to open it. If Enjoy can’t tell who switched, it says “The project is now on” followed by the branch.
Choose a branch
Select Switch back to the old branch to put the whole project back on it. Or select Stay on the new branch to continue this conversation there.
Carry on with the conversation
The notice goes away, and a note in the conversation records your choice.
Good to know
- Switching back changes the files for every conversation in the main folder, including the one that switched. That conversation then shows the notice itself.
- If you send a message without choosing, the conversation continues on the current branch and notes it, such as “The project switched from main to feature/contact-form. This conversation continues on feature/contact-form.”
- Switch back to only appears if the old branch still exists. While an agent works in the main folder, the notice says “Switching back is available when work finishes.”
- On your computer or in the web app, if switching back would overwrite uncommitted changes, Enjoy asks you to commit them first. See Switch branches with uncommitted changes. The iPhone app can’t do this, so the project stays where it is. Switch back from your computer or the web app instead.
- Branch changes made outside Enjoy, such as in another app, show the notice too.
- Conversations working in a worktree never show this notice, because each worktree has its own files and branch. To run several tasks at once without switching each other’s branch, give each one a worktree. See Try ideas side by side in worktrees.
